“My arms and back are the strongest they have been in a long time. I previously avoided upper body training and would only use light weights or body weight because I had chronic shoulder pain. Over the course of my programming I’ve had a noticeable decrease in shoulder pain and when I did have a flare up, Jake adjusted my programming to include some shoulder rehab, and now my pain has improved and I’m back on tracking with upper body training. I’ve also noticed a big improvement with my performance. I’ve been able to mountain bike longer trails and steeper hills since starting the programming. “I started the program as an adjunct to my triathlon training plan. Most triathlon training plans that I've used or read are weak when comes to strength training. Being an older athlete (57), strength training is essential to my ability to maintain muscle mass, perform at a high level (for me anyway), and to prevent injury. Since adding this program, I've seen faster improvements in my FTP, better mobility enabling me to get into and stay in aero positions longer on the bike and an improved swim stroke, and the biggest improvement for me has been the new found resilience in my legs. In other words, the ability to keep up with repeated surges or climbs without fatiguing and still be able to run off the bike.”
